I have been a part time knifemaker since 1993. My production in a year is about 10 - 12 knives. With my knives I have received several gold, silver and bronze medals at the Fiskars national knife making chanpionships during 1996 - 2018 I have also acted often as one of the judges. 

I am currently the vice president of the Finnish Knifemakers Guild, and was the main organizer of the International Helsinki Knife Show during 2015 - 2019.  

I have acted as an lecture and evaluator of the Finnish Bladesmith (2007 and 2012) and Master Bladesmith (2009 and 2018) graduations, and gained myself the Master Bladesmith title in 2018.

I have written several articles and two + 700 pages books about the history of Finnish puukko. (my first book was published shortened first in German language and then in English in 2020. Check the section "knife books") My other interests include, among others, training and teaching Wado Kai karate (since 1979), composing and playing guitar. 

One of the best things during my many years of knife making has been the possibility to meet several wonderful, helpful, talented people, among them my special friends Jürgen Steinau and Dietmar Kressler, pictured here with me during Helsinki Knife Show 2019.
